Mr. Sanchez is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance with a secondary emphasis in Jazz Studies.  He received a Bachelor of Music Education degree at New Mexico State University.  While attending the prestigious UNT College of Music, he was also on the faculty as a Trumpet Teaching Fellow. While at NMSU, he held the position of Trumpet Assistant, conducted a jazz ensemble, and held an assistantship with the Las Cruces Symphony. Academically, Mr. Sanchez is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. Mr. Sanchez is a past winner of the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Scholarship Competition and was active as a counselor at the Mile High Jazz Camp in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. Sanchez can be heard under the GIA Windworks Label and has appeared at the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Festival, College Band Directors National Association and Texas Bandmasters Association Conferences, as well as other venues from Washington D.C. to southern California.  As a professional musician he has performed in the Fort Worth Symphony, North Texas Wind Symphony, the Texas Ballet Orchestra, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and has performed with artists Michael W. Smith, Lee Greenwood, Sandi Patty, Tony Campise, Mariachi Cobre and a host of others. Mr. Sanchez has been teaching trumpet for over ten years and his students consistently receive first division ratings at solo/ensemble festivals and place in the top tier at auditions.
